ioSleep has partnered with Sleepio to bring you a clinically proven way to address your sleep problems from the comfort of your own home.
What is Sleepio?
Sleepio is a six week program designed to help you improve your sleep. Created by sleep expert Prof Colin Espie, it makes use of the most current Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. Whether you've recently developed trouble sleeping, or have been suffering for years, you can now help to correct your sleep troubles by using our online program, from the comfort of your own home. Clinical studies have proven that Sleepio users fall asleep faster, sleep more soundly and feel better during the day.
What do I need to do?
Your program will be guided by your virtual sleep expert, The Prof, on the Sleepio.com website. For about twenty minutes each week, The Prof will guide you through your customized session, which will address your specific sleep problems and progress. Between these weekly sessions, you will record your progress in a simple online Sleep Diary and will be sent reminders to keep you on track. You will also have access to powerful online tools (such as relaxation audio), a library with over 100 expert articles, a large community of other users and a weekly “live group seminar” led by a sleep expert, all designed to help you get the most out of Sleepio.
What is CBT?
CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT is often delivered through face-to-face sessions with a trained specialist and is a first-choice intervention to deal with a wide range of issues. By reversing the cycle of negative thoughts, emotions and behaviours, CBT can help eliminate a wide range of problems. Does Sleepio really work?
A peer-reviewed study published June 2012 in the esteemed international sleep journal "SLEEP" demonstrates that Sleepio is very effective. A placebo-group Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) was used to test Sleepio to the highest clinical evidence standards. Results showed that Sleepio can help you fall asleep 50% faster, spend 60% less time awake through the night, improve your mood, energy and concentration during the day and attain overall a more reliable sleep pattern.
